Room was basically brand new, staff was super friendly and accommodating. Great location with lots of stuff walking distance. Not super fancy but has everything you need and is clean. You can't ask for more at this price. They are still remodeling so don't be put off by the exterior.

I was very pleased with my stay at this particular hotel. The service was beyond excellent!!

One must view and rate Banfield Studios for what it is. While I'm giving a 5 star rating, it shouldn't be compared to a Hyatt or Embassy Suites, this is a wholly different sort of lodgings. At the end of the day, this is a motel, not a resort. It is a place to lay your head, watch some TV, and unwind from the day's activities... and it is more than up to the task. With all of that said, Banfield Studios is a *fantastic* place for budget-minded travelers, or for anyone looking for accommodations in the immediate vicinity. The rooms do have a few idiosyncrasies, such as having a spare bunk bed in the room and there being no closet, but the rooms are clean and functional. However, having a refrigerator and a microwave in the room, along with a kitchen sink, was a nice surprise and is a real bonus that certainly balances things out. The staff are WONDERFUL, and I cannot overstate this. They were welcoming, helpful, and had some great recommendations for places to eat in the area. There is always someone at the office and they are more than happy to answer questions and make sure that your stay is as comfortable as possible. Frankly, a number of large hotel chains could learn quite a bit from the staff here. Just dealing with a motel clerk with a positive attitude was a refreshing change from the norm. I wasn't sure what to expect from the online photos but, once we checked in, I was glad for the booking. The neighborhood around the motel is quite nice. Plenty of restaurants and coffee shops in walking distance, as well as the historic Hollywood theater. The area has a lot to offer and the rest of Portland is just an Uber/Lyft away. For the price? One simply cannot do better than the Banfield Studios. I'm already looking ahead to my next visit to Portland, and will certainly be staying there again.

Wonderful place! Do not be put off by the construction that can be seen from the street. They are undergoing some renovations, but do go above and beyond to make sure it doesn’t impact the guests in any real way. Rooms are clean, stylish and functional. The kitchenette met my needs satisfactorily. Hot water was always hot and shower pressure was above average. Heater blew hot and easily kept pace with some of the colder days we had in January. Management was always professional and effective. Banfield Studios exceeded my expectations and I would recommend it to anyone

Management and house keeping is very kind and on site. This is within a very short walk from anything you need: the library, the Saturday Hollywood Farmers Market, TriMet busses and trains, bicycle pathways, Grocery Outlet and Trader Joes, and Sensible Cannabis. You can bring a small cooker, as there's a dorm fridge and microwave as well as a full bathtub. Pet friendly and with a covered smoking area, and very near a variety of inner city neighborhoods, consider this as a long term vacation rental. I'm getting my business done at the table, and the Frigidaire regulates temperature and blocks out street noise great.
